General Installation Instructions for Thermafix® Heat Shrink Products 

Specific steps are followed to ensure Thermafix® heat shrink products produce a tight seal.  Select the largest diameter of tubing that will fit snuggly after heat is applied, according to the specific shrink ratio. Since the tubing shrinks radially (in diameter) and not lengthwise, it should  be cut precisely to the length needed.

Using a low-intensity flame heat source, such as an infrared or hot air gun, heat is applied along the tubing until it’s snug around the wires. If using the adhesive lined tubing, extra time may be needed to heat.
